What is Chair Massage?
Chair massage is a short massage - usually 5 to 30 minutes - done through the clothing in a specially designed chair. It usually focuses on the back, neck, shoulders, arms and hands. The chairs are portable and can be used in almost any setting. They are often thought of for corporate purposes, but only about half of chair massages are performed in offices. They can be used indoors, outdoors, in health clubs, hospitals, private homes, or for charitable events.
One benefit of chair masage is that it takes something that is generally done behind closed doors and brings it out into the open. This demystifies massage and makes it more accessible to the general public, as well as showing an observer what to expect. Another benefit is that it is done through the clothing, so that people who might feel uncomfortable disrobing for a table massage can still enjoy a relaxing massage.
Please contact me if you would like to include chair massage at your next event or in your workplace. My schedule is flexible and I will accomodate your needs the best I can.
